Lauren & Jamie

I want to look back at one of our favorite weddings of this year. God has truly blessed Elizabeth and I with some amazing couples over the past 7 years. Lauren & Jamie tied the knot in May at The Warehouse in downtown Montgomery. It was an honor to be a part of their day. Lauren said, "More than anything, our vision for our wedding was to display the glory of God. Marriage is a holy and sacred thing, and we wanted our entire wedding day to reflect the weight of the life-long covenant that we were making. We also knew that we would have a lot of people that would be traveling for as many as 10 hours to be with us, so we wanted to make sure they didn't travel in vain. We made our reception as celebratory of a party as we could!"

"The wedding presents Jamie and I gave each other were also special. We talked a lot beforehand about what wedding presents to give each other and decided that we would get each other new personalized Bibles. We both had older Bibles that were literally falling apart so it was somewhat of a practical gift, but it also signified the new chapter in our lives that we were getting to start together and what we would be basing our lives around in the years to come. It was also the first thing I got with my new last name on it!"

"The most memorable moment for me on our wedding day was our foot-washing during the ceremony. Jamie and I chose to wash each other's feet at the end of our ceremony as a way to display our love and commitment to Christ and to each other. Marriage is about sacrifice and about putting the needs of your spouse above your own needs. We chose to demonstrate our commitment to sacrificing our wants and desires for each other in our marriage in front of all of our guests and it was the sweetest and most intimate time of worship for us."

"If I could say anything to all the bride-to-be's out there, it would be to focus more on your marriage than on your wedding day. You wedding day will be one of the best days of your life, and every bride deserves to feel beautiful and have their dream day, but at the end of it all, no matter what goes right or wrong, you will be married! Take the time to invest in the days and years to come rather than just your one wedding day."
